Entering 2023, life has become more comfortable and convenient due to the rapid advancement of technology, but human beings have also incurred the cost of environmental pollution while developing civilization. Among them, air pollution has the most extensive impact, and because the time of air pollution is difficult Controlled and erratic, it will not be limited to a certain range and difficult to prevent and control. Poor air quality not only endangers people's health but also destroys the environment. Therefore, the whole world has invested a lot of manpower and material resources in the hope of improving air quality.

With the improvement of people's living standards and the improvement of public health awareness, air quality monitoring and air purification series products are getting more and more attention. The quality of the sensor directly affects the accuracy of the measurement. The mid-to-high-end air purifier market will become a battleground for manufacturers!

Effects of PM2.5 on Health

The sources of PM2.5 can be divided into primary sources and derived sources, both of which may be naturally occurring or man-made. The so-called PM2.5 is the suspended particulate matter in the air. The reason why it is scary is because the particles are extremely small, and they are often attached to high carcinogens such as heavy metals and dioxins. They breathe through masks, nose hair, or other barriers on the body and into the nasal cavity, chest cavity, and lungs. It is gradually deposited on various parts according to the size. Suspended particles of different particle sizes may have different hazards to human organs, such as respiratory diseases, cancer, low birth weight infants, and cardiovascular diseases. Long-term or short-term exposure to high concentrations of PM2.5 increases the risk of respiratory disease and death, especially in sensitive populations.

The principle of laser detection

At present, the sensors used for dust detection are divided into infrared light source and laser light source. They judge the amount and size of dust particles by detecting the light refracted by dust in the air respectively. Most of the dust detection in the past used infrared LED as the light source. Due to the insufficient accuracy of the infrared LED sensor, the obtained data is unstable. It is mainly used for industrial and mining dust. The detection object is large particle size and high concentration dust, and the detection level is mg/m3. The concentration of PM2.5 cannot be accurately measured, only the degree of dust pollution can be detected.

In order to pursue higher performance, the PM2.5 sensor uses a laser diode with a beam ≤ 10um and stable output power. The wavelength is represented by 650nm, and it can work stably in harsh environments as low as -40°C and as high as 85°C. The detection principle is that the sampled air is driven by a fan or a blower, and is detected by designing a complex air duct. The suspended particles pass through the laser detection channel to scatter the particles, and the scattered light radiates in a 360° space. The photoelectric effect of the photodetector generates a current signal, which is amplified by the operational amplifier circuit to calculate the air quality. With high precision and wide application, laser has gradually become an important tool for indoor electrical appliances, automobiles, and air quality testing in public places!

The laser module of LECC M6 series is the smallest one among the standard public modules of the EEL series, and its compact size is easy to load into various small household appliances. Suitable for signal processing, sensors and instruments, automation and program control, sweeping robots, testing and measurement, etc. LECC pursues excellent laser module quality and is committed to the development and manufacture of mid-to-high-end laser modules. Through rich manufacturing experience, attentively understand the needs of customers in various applications, and focus on the field of optoelectronics, our products have been favored and recognized by well-known brands for many years, such as: GE, PHILIPS, SIEMENS, FUJIFILM, BOSCH, BYD, Electrolux, ECOVACS , flex, etc. are currently partners of DS Electronics.
